Spring Run-Off

Rafting in Aspen is amazing right now! The warm weather has brought up the water levels, meaning big splashes, wave trains, and unforgettable adventures. With the higher levels, we have raised our age minimums for each section, because safety is our #1 priority.

Slaughterhouse is a high adventure, Class IV section. This trip is not for the faint-hearted, especially during peak runoff. We require that everyone be physically fit (run a mile, do 10 push-ups and 25 sit-ups) and be able to swim.  Prior experience is a plus! Everyone will be paddling for a majority of the trip. Age minimum is 16+.

The Upper Fork, our most popular option, is packed full of fun rapids. When the water levels are high this Class III section will make you happy you’re wearing a wetsuit! The wave trains can get pretty high so we raised our age minimum to 10+.

The Lower Fork, near Carbondale, is always a great trip for the whole family. Just because it’s family friendly, doesn’t mean there aren’t fun rapids. The Lower Fork has plenty of Class II whitewater to keep the kids entertained. Age minimum is 5+.

Fly fishing trips are best for the enthusiastic and determined folks during high water. While there are always places to fish, they are not as available and might take a little longer to get to.
